Research Mentoring

GSOLE supports research into online literacy instruction, whether the literacy in question is reading, writing, or digital composition and especially if it combines any of those focal areas. As such, we offer mentoring to scholars who are developing research projects in this area. Our goal is to help you to strengthen the project such that it will provide meaningful and publishable data that benefits the entire online literacy educational community.

To be eligible for mentoring, you must be a GSOLE member.

Mentorship offers these benefits:
  • You will be assigned to a GSOLE Mentor* who has experience in your proposed area of research
  • Your research proposal will receive written feedback as to its strengths and weaknesses
  • You will have an opportunity to talk with the mentor as you revise the proposal and, if needed, as you conduct the research

To apply for mentoring, please provide:
  • Updated CV
  • Two-page description of your proposed research and a projected timeline for its completion to include methodological orientation and research methods being considered.
  • Contact information

If you have questions about the mentoring application process, contact the Research Chairs Lisa Meloncon and Alice Horning at research.gsole@gmail.com.
